Gavin Bryars took over the musical direction and built it out through improvisation; Brian Eno produced the recording in London in February 1977, and it appeared in 1978 as the ninth Obscure release. Side A is a slow minimal drift of scales on piano, mallet percussion and strings, with a collage of wave sounds. Side B lays long string tones from a family of eight violins, sopranino to contrabass, under Lucie Skeaping singing fragments of the text. Michael Nyman, John White and Howard Skempton are among the players. This is the 1982 Japanese issue of one of Obscure's least-discussed titles.\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"Music Forecast","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":48123381874849,"sku":"MF-2610-114","price":6600.0,"currency_code":"JPY","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0552\/6034\/8577\/files\/MF-2610-114.jpg?v=1792303895","url":"https:\/\/musicforecast.org\/en\/products\/tom-phillips-gavin-bryars-fred-orton-irma","provider":"Music Forecast","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
