1996年11月18日、BMGの配給網でRCA/Parousiaから発売されたThe Ganja Kruの2枚組EPは、DJ Hypeがエグゼクティヴ・プロデューサーとして名を連ね、The Green Room、Hype Studios、Frontline Studiosの3拠点で録音された。A1のSuper Sharp Shooterを手がけたDJ Zincは、ベースラインにLL Cool JのEat Em Up L (Chill)、ヴォーカルにLL Cool JのIt Get's No RufferとMethod ManのRelease Yo' Delfを引き、ヒップホップのフレーズをジャングルのブレイクに組み直している。C1のTrue Playa'z AnthemはDJ Hype自身の手による一曲で、True Playa'z Productionsという制作体制の名がそのままタイトルに刻まれている。
