The Cuban conga player Candido Camero on Salsoul in 1980, recorded and mixed by Bob Blank at Blank Tapes, with Scott Litt engineering the Power Station sessions. All four tracks run past seven and a half minutes, built on congas and rhythm section, with "Samba Funk" turning towards Brazilian rhythm. Latin percussion set against New York disco production personnel — a record followed as much for Bob Blank's name as for anything else.
