An early masterpiece 12-inch by Matthew Herbert, released in 1997 on Phonography. This record showcases Herbert's characteristic experimentalism, already perfected, blending minimally chopped samples, dry beats, and bizarre sound processing into deep house grooves. Led by "Never Give Up," the tracks are functional yet feature incredibly unique sound design in their details. It's an important work that foreshadows the late 90s UK deep house movement towards click/microhouse.
