Recorded at Fantasy Studios in Berkeley in October 1973 and issued by Milestone. Luis Gasca arranged and conducted, with George Duke on keyboards, Francisco Aguabella and Victor Pantoja on congas and Eric Gravatt on drums — the tenor set inside a large Latin ensemble. The ten-minute "Tres Palabras" works from an Osvaldo Farrés bolero, with three flutes and flugelhorn layered above it. On "Canyon Lady" congas and electric piano fill the space and the tenor stretches out. Henderson on the West Coast in the seventies, a long way from the Blue Note years. US original pressing.
