A self-titled album by Never Been There, a combo formed around German multi-instrumentalists Rudi Zapf and Wolfgang Neumann. Centered on the oriental melodies of the hammer dulcimer played by the two, the album flexibly incorporates elements of folklore and jazz fusion, developing a crossover ensemble throughout. The lyricism created by the woody, richly harmonic sound, while belonging to the world music context of the time, ultimately deeply resonates with a New Age listening sensibility. It is now gaining renewed attention as a hidden masterpiece of lyrical oriental New Age music.
