Recorded at Van Gelder Studio on 15 May 1970 and released by Blue Note that November. This copy is the 1996 Blue Note Rare Groove Series pressing, supervised by Bob Belden and mastered by Wally Traugott. Duke Pearson plays electric piano and produced the session. Airto Moreira is on percussion and Hermeto Pascoal on flute; the thirteen-minute-thirty-five "Xibaba" is Airto's composition. Also present: Pepper Adams, Frank Foster, Lew Tabackin, Jerry Dodgion, Ron Carter and Mickey Roker.
