Herbie Hancock's twelfth studio album released on October 13, 1973 through Columbia Records. It is one of Herbie's representative albums of his electric jazz period, and has a great influence on later jazz funk and jazz fusion. The recorded song "Watermelon Man" is a jazz-funk arrangement of the song released by Herbie on his first leader album "Takin' Off" (1962).
