A contemporary big band album by Quincy Jones, who returned to the recording studio as leader after working in Hollywood. While based on big band jazz, he also looks to the pop scene and the world of electronic instruments. It's one of Creed Taylor's A&M days, and it's still a great piece to listen to today. Walking In Space, which Brand Nubian also sampled, is great.
