“Mr. Wollogallu” is a collaborative work by Carlos Maria Trindade and Nuno Canavarro, released in Portugal in 1991. The two, who had both been active in Portugal's pop/rock scene in the 80s, met through their manager Antonio Cunha and undertook their first serious collaboration. Conceived and recorded over a long period in a home studio in the early 1990s, the album was nominally attributed to Carlos on Side A and Nuno on Side B, but in reality, it was created with deep mutual involvement.
While it was not well understood at the time, it was re-evaluated in the context of electronic music history in later years, and in 2000, it was recognized as one of the important works of Portuguese electronic music. The abstract soundscapes, where acoustic and electronic sounds merge, possess a mysterious depth that evokes maps, journeys, and landscapes. It is a pioneering record that encapsulates the fleeting creativity of the two artists' intersection.
