This is the second volume of a lavish remix collection of Belgian electronic music pioneers Telex, reimagined by the cutting edge of Detroit techno, electro, and house. Among them, Juan Atkins' "Brainwash" is a stunning achievement, astonishingly naturally connecting Telex's cool synth-pop with Detroit's futurism. Ian Pooley, DJD, 20:20 Vision, Morgan Geist, Eddie Flashin' Fowlkes, and others also participate, each extracting the inherent mechanical funkiness of the original from a different angle. This is a well-conceived project that allows listeners to experience how late 1970s European electronic music was continuous with the techno/electro generation 20 years later.
