Drummer and producer Fernando Arbex founded Barrabas in Madrid in 1971, pulling together a multinational line-up: Filipino guitarists Ricky and Miguel Morales, Portuguese keyboardist Juan Vidal, Cuban percussionist and reedman Tito Duarte. Their debut mixed Latin rock with jazz and funk, and its two singles, "Wild Safari" and "Woman", sold across Europe and the Americas. "Woman" found a second life around 1973 in New York, played at David Mancuso's Loft and Nicky Siano's Gallery as the discotheque scene took shape, and later became a b-boy staple. This copy is a 1974 Spanish RCA Victor edition made for subscribers to the Círculo de Lectores book club.
