Enrique X. Macías, born in Vigo in 1958 and gone by 1995, is regarded as one of the most gifted Galician composers of his generation; he co-founded Santiago's Contemporary Music Sessions in 1987. This 1983 LP on Linterna Música gathers his chamber and electroacoustic work. The thirteen-minute "Nachtmusik II" is scored for five instruments and magnetic tape: the tape was realised at the experimental studio of Finnish radio in Helsinki, the instruments recorded in Lisbon in March 1983. "Foglio" is a solo harpsichord piece recorded in the Gulbenkian Foundation's main auditorium. Side B holds "Morgengesang I" and the twelve-minute "Lied Für María". A rare document of Iberian contemporary composition, where live instruments and tape are layered against each other.
