Set against the backdrop of late '70s/early '80s Italian disco/boogie, "Chinese Kung Fu (Subway)" features a minimalist, repetitive groove that's ready for clubs. Exotic motifs are incorporated into a long, synth-driven development, strongly displaying the studio-craftsman approach and experimentalism of the time. Even under different names, this record deserves a renewed recognition as an important project from the dawn of Italo-disco.
