The second record in Brian Eno's Ambient series was made in 1979 at Grant Avenue Studio in Hamilton, Ontario, and released in 1980. Eno prepared the piano with electronic treatments and handled the sound; Harold Budd improvised at the keys, listening to the processed result as he played and searching out the register and speed that made the treated instrument resonate most. From "First Light" onward, Budd's acoustic and electric piano melodies are refracted, almost prism-like, through Eno's processing, and the same method carries through the title track, "Above Chiangmai" and "An Arc Of Doves". Ten short pieces, spare and slow, across under forty minutes. This is the 1987 UK Editions EG reissue.
