This is Herbie Hancock's 12th studio album, released by Columbia Records on October 13, 1973. It is a representative work from Herbie's electric jazz period and greatly influenced later jazz-funk and jazz fusion. The track "Watermelon Man" is a re-recording, with a jazz-funk arrangement, of a song Herbie released on his first leader album, Takin' Off (1962).
