UK Garage House's Most Important Producer of the 2010s,
Joy Orbison, Completes His First Full-Length Work!!
Joy Orbison, the reclusive DJ/producer who debuted with the still-timeless 2009 club classic "Hyph Mngo" and has since garnered enthusiastic support in underground dance music scenes worldwide, is releasing his first full-length work, a 14-track mixtape titled 'still slipping vol.1,' through XL Recordings!! While leaving behind numerous excellent 12-inch singles, this powerful culmination encapsulates his entire musical career to date, leading the underground music scene with movements like UK garage and post-dubstep. Recorded at his Walworth Window studio in southeast London, the album features collaborations with up-and-coming artists whose keen aesthetic sense caught his eye, including Herron, James Massiah, Bate, Léa Sen, Goya Gumbani, and Tyson. Furthermore, family voices recorded in voice memos appear like monologues, including his uncle Ray Keith, a jungle/drum & bass legend, and his cousin Leah, who appears on the artwork and introduced a young Joy Orbison to drum & bass and UK garage. This work is not only supreme dance music but also a soul record that evokes the protagonist's personal scenes.
