In Praise Of Mitochondria is a double-disc compilation released in 2017 by Melbourne's Left Ear Records, featuring electro-funk independently produced in the Japanese underground scene during the 1980s. Minoru 'Hoodoo' Fushimi's music, built with Casio and Roland rhythm machines, synth bass, and unique storytelling, creates a completely original world, distinct from the electro and boogie of the time from overseas, as well as Japanese popular songs. It includes re-evaluated tracks such as "Thanatopsis" and "Ai Wa Nohshintoh," which gained international recognition through their re-release, while D1 and D3 are unreleased tracks exclusive to this album. Comes with shrink wrap.
