PECKER's groundbreaking Japanese dub album, created in Jamaica, is reborn in a more potent form through the remastering work of "sound alchemist" Makoto Kubota!
In 1980, Pecker, the percussionist who formed Japan's first salsa band, Orquesta del Sol, created "Pecker Power," Japan's first dub work. At the same time, "Instant Rasta" was produced as a special project album.
This stateless dub sound, born from sessions with The Wailers at Bob Marley's Tuff Gong studio and with Sly & Robbie at Channel One, was distributed in the United States in 1987 under the title "21st Century Dub," and has since become known to dub fans worldwide. From this legendary work, "sound alchemist" Makoto Kubota has selected 11 tracks and edited/remixed/remastered them for vinyl, creating a more potent, dub-infused new sound!
