Delphes Records issued this four-way split in France in 1985, giving each composer roughly a quarter of the running time. Side A opens with Pierre Demouron's "La Nuit En Spirale", a suite for double bass, followed by "Gemini" from Luc Marianni, a former journalist who had released a run of electronic-leaning solo albums from 1980; he handles percussion, strings, electronics and voice himself, with electric guitar and chorus added. Side B belongs to Zex Pitron, layering synthesizer, piano and clarinet against guitar on "Flashex ? Caractéristique : Dardant", and to André Viaud, whose twelve-minute "Les Matériaux Impressionnistes" is built on an ARP Odyssey. From acoustic bass to a single analogue synth, it is a compact survey of the quieter margins of French electronic and concrète music in the mid-1980s.
