"Getting Up" (1982) is an early single by Pigbag, a seminal UK post-punk/dance-funk band. This single opened their first album and clearly showed the direction Pigbag was heading. The repetitive groove, driven by bass and horns, intertwines with rhythmic sensibilities derived from dub and Afro-American music, creating a vivid intersection between post-punk experimentation and club-like physicality. This is an important work that marked the band's starting point. A long version (12' only) is included.
