This is a 4-track EP released by the NY electro/disco unit Pixeltan from DFA in 2009. It features tightly looping bass, dry drums, and vocals with a hint of new wave coolness, creating a mutant disco sound typical of DFA. It's an excellent record that updates the downtown NY funkiness inherited from ESG and Liquid Liquid into a more electronic and sharp-edged sound. Highly recommended for fans of James Murphy's DFA sound, as well as disco-punk and leftfield enthusiasts.
