A Garden Of Paradise 23:15
B Four Ever Rainbow 20:30

In April 1979 the Festival for Mind-Body-Spirit at London's Olympia housed a Rainbow Dome, and Steve Hillage and his long-time partner Miquette Giraudy were commissioned to make music for it. Recorded at their Om studio that January and released by Virgin the same spring, it marked a clean break from Hillage's guitar-rock albums: two long pieces, one per side. Giraudy's "Garden Of Paradise" sets her double sequencer, ARP Omni and Tibetan bells cycling; Hillage's "Four Ever Rainbow" floats glissando guitar over looping synthesizers and Fender Rhodes. Celestial, unhurried music, written for people lying under a dome, and the point where Hillage turned fully toward ambient music.
