The Antique Blacks is one of the very limited number of LPs Sun Ra pressed for sale at concerts and clubs, and the original is quite rare. It is said to have been recorded based on a radio program broadcast at Temple University (Philadelphia) in 1974. Like many of Sun Ra's self-produced labels, Satan, this album is a mix of different materials, with little continuity or consistency. It's not a bug, it's a feature. The album contains a lot of hilarious jams ("Song No.1"), some songs, and Sunny's declarative (and mysterious) sermons. It hasn't been on the market for over 30 years. A reissue from the Art Yard label.
