Released in 1975, "Spirit Man" by Weldon Irvine, a keyboardist who moved freely between the boundaries of soul and jazz. Centered around the Fender Rhodes, the album is a fusion of jazz, funk, and spiritual sensibilities, with a remarkable balance of melody and groove. Despite its political and ideological undertones, the performance is flexible and highly listenable. It is one of Irvine's representative works, condensing the intellect and warmth of 70s Black music.
